Custom Made Ocular Prosthesis

An ocular prosthesis, or artificial eye, is made following removal of the natural eye due to damage or disease (called enucleation surgery). In most cases, a spherical implant is placed within the socket during surgery. The prosthesis is then carefully shaped and fitted over this implant.

Scleral Shell Ocular Prosthesis

A scleral shell ocular prosthesis is a special type of artificial eye that is designed to be worn over a blind, disfigured eye or an eye that has had the cornea, the iris and the internal contents removed and an implant placed within the eye itself (called evisceration surgery).

Each prosthesis is individually hand crafted of a special, durable acrylic and is meticulously hand painted to match the companion eye in every nuance and detail.
